For AY 2022-2023 TDS was deducted from my bank account even though I had filed the taxes in ITR filing. When brought to notice to the bank, they refunded the amount to the wrong pan card number. (Customer ID was wrongly input by the bank employee sending the refund to the wrong pan card number).
After following up with the bank, they deposited the money back to my pan card number.
How do I withdraw the money from my pan card? Adhaar card, bank account are linked to pan card. I've already visited the AO in my Jurisdiction area. They don't seem to be cooperating even after visiting 3-4 times. Is there a way to be able to withdraw/ get this money back online?
Taxpayer must file petition under section 119(2)(b) for delayed refund after bank TDS error correction A taxpayer had TDS deducted from their bank account for AY 2022-23 despite filing returns. The bank initially refunded the amount to the wrong PAN due to employee error but later corrected it to the proper PAN. The taxpayer seeks to withdraw approximately 30,000 INR from their PAN, visiting the local Assessing Officer multiple times without cooperation. Legal experts advised that direct withdrawal from PAN is not permitted. The proper procedure involves filing a petition for condonation of delay under section 119(2)(b) before the Jurisdictional Commissioner, followed by filing a revised return through the e-filing portal. The refund will be credited to the PAN-linked bank account through the centralized processing system. (AI Summary)
