whether Additional place of business is mandatory?

sonu choudhary

I have a query regarding implication of additional place of business. one of my client providing services in different state with centralized GST registration. He has PAN India customer base but he has supply the major goods from the State in which GST registration held but due to short time of service they have purchase some goods locally and supply to customer. Does he has to add to take new registration or additional place of business? please help on the topic.

GST Registration Needed Only Where Supply Originates, Not Where Delivered; No Extra Registration If Operating From Registered State. A user inquired about the necessity of registering an additional place of business under GST for a client providing services across states with centralized GST registration. The client supplies goods from their registered state but occasionally purchases and supplies locally due to time constraints. Respondents clarified that GST registration is state-specific and required from where the supply originates, not where it is delivered. If the client operates from the registered state, no additional registration is needed. Some replies indicated unclear details in the query, and one noted a lack of response from the inquirer for further clarification. (AI Summary)
