E-waybill expired-What action to be taken

Yatin Bhopi

We supply goods from Maharashtra to all over India. many times, goods move after transhipments. Means from our factory, goods first moves to transporters godown. after loading other customers goods in one truck, transporter deliver goods to customer. Transporter accordingly update the Part B of E-waybill. Sometime its take longer time than expected and before reaching goods to customer doorstep e-waybill gets expired, and system not allow us to increase the validity (after 8hrs of validity).

Please let me know suitable course of action to rectify or regularise the e-waybill.

E-waybill validity requires estimating transit distance with a margin; update Part B during transit to maintain compliance. E-waybill validity can lapse during multi-leg transshipments; consignors and transporters should estimate and enter an appropriate distance-based validity with a margin at generation. The carrier may update Part B while goods are in transit, and maintaining current Part B entries until delivery is the operative means to regularise transit and avoid expiry. (AI Summary)

For each 100 kms the validity of eway bill is one day. Feed appropriate kms with 10% more kms. Part B can be updated till the goods reaches the customer place
