Inquiry on Bank Guarantee for Second Machine Import Under EPCG Scheme; Second-Hand Goods Not Permitted Per Handbook. A user inquired about the bank guarantee required for importing a second machine under the EPCG scheme, noting their company was established post-GST and has exported goods worth 35 lakh in eight months. A respondent indicated the guarantee would depend on the machine's value and other factors. The user specified the machine's value at INR 1,21,40,000 with applicable IGST and customs duties totaling 27 percent, suggesting the guarantee could be 100 percent or 15 percent of this percentage. Another respondent noted that importing second-hand capital goods is not allowed under the EPCG scheme per the relevant procedural handbook. (AI Summary)

It will be decided by the Authority concerned considering the value of the machine and other factors.

dear Sir .

The value of he machine is approximately INR:- 1,21,40000.

The total IGST :- 18 percent and approximately customs :- 9 percent .

If the EPCG is issued with both considering IGST and customs i.e 27 percent .

The Bank guarantee amount will be either 100 percent of 27 percent or 15 percent of 27 percent

We are already manufacturer exporter but do not have central excise number and are exporting since last 9 months only .
