Client Seeks Guidance on GST Adjustment for Post-Sale Discount on Cement Bags; Credit Note Issued for Compliance. A client, a wholesale and resale dealer, purchased cement bags at 300 plus 28% GST and resold them at 305 plus 28% GST. After the sale, the client received a 20 per bag discount via a credit note, which affects the GST input tax credit. The client seeks advice on adjusting the GST payable, filing GSTR 3B, and making appropriate accounting entries. Responses suggest that if there is an agreement for the post-sale discount, it is not liable to GST, and a credit note can be issued to reflect this adjustment. (AI Summary)
