Dear Sir,

our CHA has used incorrect HS code while filling shipping bill in EDI system, and at the same time we have also availed MEIS license on the same incorrect HS codes.

Afterword’s, we have surrendered the original license to DGFT and it is cancelled by the RA.

We have approached Custom authority to get the amendment certificate under Section 148 and we have also got the same and submitted original to DGFT.

Since we are not authorized to change ITC HS code in MEIS license application software, we have submitted the Manual application to DGFT with original amendment certificate issued by custom authority, but DGFT has advised that they are not authorized to correct the HS code in MEIS application. They have disallowed all the shipping bills.

Now I need your assistance to solve below obstacles:

Which authority has right to amend the HS codes in EDI data of shippingbill?

On the basis of amendment certificate issued by custom authority, DGFT can change the ITC HS code in their system or not?

Should I approach custom’s EDI department to make the correction ins HS codes ??

How I will be able to get the MEIS license with correct HS code because it effect lots of in terms of license value.

DgFT does not have power to amend, Shipping bill data is auto populated from custom server. No alternative available now.
