ISSUED TAX INVOICE OR BILL OF SUPPLY FOR NIIL RATED GOODS

knr varma

Company manufacturing /supplying taxable and exempted goods, issuing tax invoice for taxable goods, issuing bill of supply for nill rated goods.

Please let me know above method is correct or not

Company's Invoicing Practice for Taxable and Exempt Goods Validated; Consider Combined Invoice as per Notification No.45/17-C.T. A company manufacturing both taxable and exempt goods inquired about the correct invoicing method under GST. They issue tax invoices for taxable goods and bills of supply for nil-rated goods. Experts in the forum confirmed this practice as correct, with some suggesting the use of an 'Invoice-cum-bill of supply' as per Notification No.45/17-C.T. dated 13.10.17. It was advised that if both types of goods are sold together, a combined invoice should be prepared. However, issuing separate documents for ease of return filing and audit was also recommended. Absolutely correct.

You can issue, "Invoice-cum-bill of supply". See Notification No.45/17-C.T. dated 13.10.17.

The views of the experts are appropriate.

Though notification allows but in our view you must issue Tax Invoice and Bill of Supply separately for taxable goods and exempted goods respectively for the ease of filing of return accordingly and get the audit conducted without any issues.
