Dear experts,

Please advise how to deal with E-way bill for supplies before 1st Feb'18 where consignment will be in transit on or after 1st feb'18.

E-way Bills Required for Inter-State Supplies Under GST from Feb 1, 2018; Verify State Instructions for Earlier Invoices. A discussion on a forum addressed the requirement of e-way bills for inter-state supplies under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system, starting from February 1, 2018. A user inquired about handling consignments in transit before this date. Responses varied, with some experts advising the generation of e-way bills to avoid complications, even for transactions before February 1. Others noted that e-way bills were not required for invoices dated before February 1, but suggested checking state-specific instructions. The forum highlighted the importance of compliance with new regulations to prevent penalties. (AI Summary)
