Do I need to pay tax for online tuitions I provide

kumar sree

Hi. I provide online video tuitions in a website. Interested ones pay one time fee. This fee is received via CCAVENUE. After deducting transaction fee, CCAVENUE, transfers the rest money to my account. The probelm is, through out the year, I have earned less than 25000 rupees. On the other hand, I have obtained GST in july.

So far, I had this misconception once annual turn over crosses 20 lakhs, then only we need to file returns. But now, after going through various videos, and blogs, I am bit scared as it seems we need to file details each month. I have not filed any returns yet. As I mentioned about the business details, I want to know, Do I have to file any returns. Or such income is considered as professional income. Because I could not able to find any GST Rates for online services.

And also, right now, I am planning to close this website, because I am going through no profit. So please guide how to close GST Account.

Note: I work from home. I ran this online video tutorials business by myself only. Any guidance will be truely welcome. Thanks in advance.

Online Tutor Queries GST Filing for Low Earnings, Seeks Closure Due to Unprofitability; Clarification on NIL Returns Needed An individual providing online video tuitions is concerned about tax obligations, having earned less than 25,000 rupees annually. Despite obtaining GST registration in July, they are unsure about filing requirements, believing previously that returns were only necessary for turnovers exceeding 20 lakhs. They seek advice on whether to file returns and how to close their GST account due to unprofitability. Respondents clarify that the service is considered 'Commercial Coaching,' with an exemption threshold of 20 lakhs. Even without invoicing, registered entities must file NIL returns. Queries about invoicing without GST as a registered entity were also raised. (AI Summary)
