C FORMS DETAILS IN TRAN1

JOSEPH DAVID

Whether it is compulsory to fill C forms detail in TRAN1 if I am not Taking any transition credit of VAT but Taking credit of Cenvat and service tax. What if still some forms are pending and no vat credit available

REGARDS

JOSEPH DAVID

No Need to Fill C Forms in TRAN-1 If Only Taking CENVAT, Not VAT Credit A user inquired whether it is mandatory to fill C forms details in TRAN1 if they are not taking VAT transition credit but are taking Cenvat and service tax credit. Several respondents provided insights, with one noting that omitting C forms could cause discrepancies. Another agreed, stating that TRAN-1 is for carrying forward credits, implying C forms are necessary if VAT credit is involved. However, the user clarified they are not carrying forward VAT credit, only CENVAT. Ultimately, it was concluded that showing C forms and F forms liability is not required if VAT credit is not being carried forward. (AI Summary)

If you do not fill Form C figures, it may mismatch the overall figures and mismatch may create problems.

I agree with the views of Sri Kasturi Sir. TRAN-1 is for carry forwarding of Credit of both Central Excise/Service Tax and VAT. So if you are carry forwarding VAT credit, then Form C detail is required to be mentioned in the transition form.

Thanks for your reply-

In our case we are not carrying forward VAT credit. We do not have VAT credit available only CENVAT credit available.

In schedule 5(c)TRAN1-we have to show balance of ITC of VAT only and C forms and F forms liability.

Is it necessary to show C forms and F forms liability where VAT credit is not shown
