Clarification Needed: Cost Breakdown Required for Mold Sales Between SEZ Units Under Customs Act for GST Purposes A unit in a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Tamil Nadu, involved in manufacturing molds, sought clarification on whether a cost breakdown is required when selling a mold to another SEZ unit. The Customs Officer requested this breakdown under the Customs Act. An expert clarified that a cost breakdown is necessary to determine the final product cost for GST payment, especially when goods are transferred within the same firm or cleared for industrial purposes, known as captive consumption.
