Gst on Tax paid service

DURAISAMY ANANDHAN

sir I am a chartered accountant. At present income tax, service tax and other taxes have been collected from my clients and deposited the same into govt account on behalf of them. For this I am collecting a service charge of ₹ 10 to ₹ 150 per transaction from them. My query is GST should collected either for transaction charges or for entire amount ( including tax) .

GST Applies Only to Service Charges for Chartered Accountants; Acts as Pure Agent Under GST Rules A chartered accountant inquires whether GST should be applied to service charges or the entire amount, including taxes collected on behalf of clients. Two respondents clarify that GST should be collected only on the service charges. They emphasize that the chartered accountant acts as a pure agent, similar to a C & F Agent, and thus GST applies solely to the service fee charged per transaction. (AI Summary)
