Cenvat Credit of Exmpted unit like Uttarakhand, Himachal & Sikkim

Swapneswar muduli

Dear Experts,

We have a manufacturing unit in Haridwar which is exempted by area based so we don't take credit and also don't charge the tax in invoice.

But in GST this exemption is not continue So my query is.

1) How the cenvat credit taking for stock held as on 30.06.2017 like input, capital , WIP & FG.

2) What about the GIT materials which are removal from supplier in Jun and we received this material in July.

Please provide your valuable suggestion for the the same.

Regards

Swapneswar Muduli

Manufacturing unit loses area-based tax exemption under GST; seeks guidance on Cenvat credit for stock and goods in transit. A manufacturing unit in Haridwar, previously exempt from taxes due to its location, faces changes under the GST regime, which does not continue the area-based exemption. The query seeks guidance on handling Cenvat credit for stock, including inputs, capital, work-in-progress, and finished goods as of June 30, 2017, and goods in transit received in July. Responses indicate that the area-based exemption will not persist under GST, raising concerns about internet infrastructure in these states and suggesting a potential refund mechanism for the exemptions.
