Excise Duty Payable for Nepal

Ramesh M

Dear Experts,

Kindly advice, we received order from Nepal, While we clearing goods to Nepal whether we need to pay excise duty or not.

Ramesh M

Export duty treatment for Nepal: exporters may export under bond or LUT duty-free, or pay duty and claim rebate. Exporters shipping goods to Nepal may either remove goods without paying excise duty by executing a bond or furnishing a Letter of Undertaking (LUT), or pay excise duty at clearance and claim the prescribed rebate; exporters must comply with the procedural and documentation requirements applicable to bonds/LUTs and rebate claims. Dear Sir,

As per my view, export to Nepal can be done without payment of excise duty under bond/LUT and on payment of excise duty under rebate claim procedure. Both the options are available for exporters exporting goods to Nepal.

I am all praise for Sh.Pawan Kumar's crystal clear reply in a few words. Brevity is spice of life.
