Dear Experts,
What is the validity period of stamp paper purchased at Indore, MP?
Is it possible to use stamp paper for any possible purpose now in year 2015, which was already purchased in year 2013 (about 2 years back)?
Kind Regards,

Dear Sir,
As you mentioned there is no validity period to stamp paper, does it mean if someone want to make a gift deed to relative and he transfers the required amount of money by cheque today and for executing the documents he can utilized the stamp paper which was purchased 2 years back? Is it not unethical that money is transferred by cheque today and stamp paper was purchased for this purpose 2 years back?
Regards,
abhishek
Dear Abhishek,
Stamp paper has no limitation period or expiry date. A stamp paper can be used at any time after purchase of it, The Indian Stamp Act only fix a period to ge the refund of unused stamp papers i.e. six months from the date of purchase but it does not defines any where the time period for use of stamp paper.
Supreme court in its decision Dated : 19/02/2008, Case : Thiruvengada Pillai Vs Navaneethammal and Anr, has calrified it.
Further, we cannot comment on emotions and on ethics but we can share with the settled legal position. It's up to you that how you take this piece of advise.
