service tax credit-reg

Ramakrishnan Seshadri

Dear Sir,

We are receiving bills relating to security ,housekeeping, internet bills and service tax is claimed in the bills.

Now our question is service tax credit to be taken only after payment to the respective parties or shall we take only the bills are taken into account.

Please clarify.

Thanks and Regards,

S.Ramakrishnan.

Claim Service Tax Credit on Security, Housekeeping, Internet Bills Upon Receipt; Pay Within 90 Days to Retain Credit. A participant inquired about the timing of claiming service tax credit for bills related to security, housekeeping, and internet services. Three responses were provided. The first advised that input service credit can be claimed upon receiving the bills, but must be reversed if payment isn't made within three months. The second response confirmed credit can be taken immediately but emphasized payment within 90 days. The third response highlighted compliance with CENVAT credit rules, reiterating the necessity of payment within 90 days to maintain the credit. (AI Summary)
