Can Past Service Tax Credits Be Claimed in September ER-1 Return After August Omission? Notification No-21/2014 Insight Needed. A participant in a discussion forum raised a query about not having claimed service tax credit in the August ER-1 return due to an excise audit's disallowance of input credit for unpaid service bills. The participant maintained a separate ledger and was unaware of the amendment in Notification No -21/2014 effective from September 1, 2014. They sought advice on whether they could claim past credits in the September ER-1 return. A respondent indicated that credit might not be available unless specific clarifications are provided, suggesting potential issues with claiming the credit. (AI Summary)
