It directs disposal of time-expired bonds targeting recovery of Rs. 300 crores out of Rs. 400 crores involved, and clearance of current bonds to realize at least Rs. 100 crores. Simplified procedures for disposing uncleared cargo at ports, ICDs, and CFS aim to recover Rs. 100 crores. Provisional assessment cases totaling approximately 48,000 are to be finalized within the year to realize Rs. 70-100 crores. Disposal of confiscated goods is targeted to generate Rs. 400 crores through regular auctions. Senior officers must be designated to monitor each area, and progress reports detailing revenue realization are required by December 1997 and March 1998 to ensure effective implementation and maximum revenue collection.
