<h1>Income Tax Officers to Verify Arrear Demands Annually; Certificates Due to IACs by June 30 and Board by July 31.</h1> The circular instructs Income Tax Officers (ITOs) to verify and reconcile arrear demands carried over to the new Demand and Collection Register (D&CR) by 15th June annually. A certificate confirming this process must be sent to the respective Inspecting Assistant Commissioners (IACs) by 30th June, and a similar certificate should be submitted to the Board by 31st July. For the 1978-79 financial year, the work should begin in April 1979. Additionally, ITOs must test check 5% of the entries to ensure accuracy in the new D&CR or Arrear Ledger Account (ALA).
