<h1>Tax authority launches online verification for eOffice Issue numbers; verifiable Issue numbers serve as DIN for public dispatch</h1> The tax authority has enabled an online verification utility for eOffice-generated Issue numbers, allowing recipients to authenticate communications (issue number, file number, date, type, issuing office and masked recipient details). Officers must accurately populate metadata when creating eOffice drafts. For communications dispatched via the eOffice public option, the verifiable Issue number will be deemed the Document Identification Number (DIN), so a separate DIN need not be quoted. DINs generated via the DIN utility remain mandatory for other communications that were not sent via eOffice public option or lack a verifiable Reference Number (RFN). Existing circulars are accordingly modified.
