Mauritius Revenue Authority e-CoO Valid from June 1, 2025 for India-Mauritius CECPA Tariff Benefits
Electronic Certificates of Origin (e-CoO) issued by the Mauritius Revenue Authority under the India-Mauritius CECPA are recognized as valid for claiming preferential tariff treatment from June 1, 2025. The e-CoO must comply with prescribed formats, bear authorized seals and signatures, and meet conditions outlined in the relevant customs notification. Verification of authenticity can be conducted via specimen seals, QR codes, or an online portal, with doubts referred to the designated customs verification cell. Importers or customs brokers must upload the e-CoO on the e-Sanchit system and accurately enter its details when filing bills of entry. A printed copy of the e-CoO is to be presented for customs verification instead of defacing the original certificate. Customs authorities are instructed to implement these procedures to ensure proper acceptance and processing of e-CoOs under the agreement.
