Importers must declare the IUPAC name and CAS number for chemicals under specific chapters of the Customs Tariff Act. Exporters must declare the name of medicinal plants, formulation names, and surface materials for products under designated chapters. These requirements aim to enhance assessment efficiency, reduce queries, and facilitate policy-making. Stakeholders are advised to comply with these changes, and any difficulties should be reported to the Joint Commissioner of Customs in Cochin.
