Faceless Assessment rollout centralises remote appraisal roles and systemised workflows to enable nationwide customs processing efficiency. Roll-out of Faceless Assessment requires nodal Commissioners to designate FAG sites and nominate officers for system activation; new ICES roles VAO and VDC will be allotted to those officers, with VDN as an administrator enabling push/recall and reallocation of Bills of Entry in exceptional circumstances. VAO/VDC functionalities mirror appraisal roles for queries, online replies, amendments and use of eSanchit, while port-specific functions remain with the port. First Check examinations return BEs to FAG for assessment completion; recalls after Second Check remain at port. Monitoring is via pendency reports and virtual dashboards.
