Customs Expands e-Sanchit Filing for Importers and Exporters; New Requirements Effective December 5, 2019, per Circular 42/2017-Cus.
The Trade Notice from the Office of the Commissioner of Customs in Jamnagar outlines changes in the Bill of Entry filing process, specifically expanding the use of the e-Sanchit system. Effective from December 5, 2019, importers, exporters, and customs brokers must upload certain documents on e-Sanchit and declare them in the Bills of Entry. Each invoice and Bill of Lading must reference the 'RN' generated from e-Sanchit with the appropriate document code. Any difficulties encountered should be communicated to the office. This change follows the Board's Circular 42/2017-Cus and updates from a previous Trade Notice.
