of <h1>Chennai Sea Port launches e-payment for customs duties via net banking, simplifying transactions and speeding up clearances.</h1> The circular outlines the procedure for e-payment of customs duties under the Indian Customs EDI system (ICES) for imports at Chennai Sea Port. Previously, customs duties were paid at designated bank branches, but now importers can use net banking for e-payment through Corporation Bank, Kellys Corner Branch. This new facility aims to reduce transaction costs and expedite customs clearance. Importers must have internet-enabled accounts and can use the CUSTOM E-Payment Gateway (CEG) at ICEGATE for transactions. The e-payment system will start on March 30, 2007, with support available for any issues encountered.
