<h1>Himachal Pradesh GST Clarification: Nil GST on Fortified Milk, Varied Rates for Other Goods and Services Effective August 2018.</h1> The circular from the Himachal Pradesh Excise and Taxation Department clarifies the applicability of GST on various goods and services. Fortified toned milk attracts a NIL GST rate, while refined beet and cane sugar are subject to a 5% GST rate. Both modified and unmodified tamarind kernel powders also attract a 5% GST rate. Safe drinking water supplied for public purposes is exempt from GST if not in sealed containers. Human blood plasma attracts 5% GST, whereas plasma products attract 12%. Baby wipes and similar products are taxed at 18% based on their constituents. Kasab yarn attracts 12% GST, while marine engines for fishing vessels and cotton quilts (under certain conditions) are subject to a 5% GST rate. Bus body building attracts either 18% or 28% GST, depending on the situation, and disc brake pads for automobiles are taxed at 28%. The circular is effective from August 9, 2018.
