of <h1>India Revises E-Payment Procedure for Central Excise and Service Tax Arrears via CBIC (ICEGATE) Portal from July 1, 2019.</h1> The Government of India, through the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs, has implemented a revised procedure for e-payment of Central Excise and Service Tax arrears via the CBIC (ICEGATE) E-payment portal effective from July 1, 2019. Taxpayers must now create a Challan on the CBIC-GST portal and proceed to the ICEGATE portal for payment. The process involves logging in, creating a Challan, selecting account heads, entering amounts, generating a Challan, and making payments through NEFT/RTGS. Tax authorities are advised to inform taxpayers and coordinate with authorized banks to ensure smooth implementation.
