of <h1>Indian Customs Aligns State Codes with GST Census Codes Effective June 14, 2017; Update Declarations to Avoid Issues.</h1> The circular from the Office of the Principal Commissioner of Customs informs stakeholders about the alignment of state codes in the Indian Customs EDI System (ICES) with those used for the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN). Previously, state codes were based on the Reserve Bank of India's list, but they will now align with Census Codes for GST purposes. This change is effective from June 14, 2017, and stakeholders are advised to update their declarations accordingly to avoid issues at ICEGATE. Any difficulties should be reported to the Deputy Commissioner of Customs (EDI).
