of <h1>GST Implementation: Customs Updates Bill of Entry and Shipping Bill Declarations; Use New State Codes from June 14, 2017.</h1> The circular from the Office of the Commissioner of Customs, Chennai, informs importers, exporters, and customs brokers about changes in Bills of Entry and Shipping Bill declarations due to the upcoming GST implementation starting July 1, 2017. The changes involve aligning State Codes with Census Codes used for GST purposes. The NIC RES package has been updated to support this change, effective from June 14, 2017. Stakeholders are advised to use the new codes to prevent declaration rejections at ICEGATE. Any issues should be reported to the Joint Commissioner (Systems).
