Goa Tax Department Confirms Nil GST Rate for Terracotta Idols Under Entry 135A of 2017 Notification.
The Government of Goa's Department of Commercial Taxes issued a circular addressing the classification and GST rate for terracotta idols. It clarifies that idols made of clay, including terracotta, are subject to a Nil GST rate as per entry 135A of the notification dated June 30, 2017. The circular confirms that terracotta, being clay-based, qualifies for this exemption. Any issues with implementing this directive should be reported to the Commissioner of State Tax. A similar circular was also issued under the Central Goods and Services Tax Act by the Ministry of Finance.
