of <h1>Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House launches paperless processing pilot to speed up import clearance; digital uploads required.</h1> The circular announces the pilot implementation of paperless processing for customs at Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House, aiming to reduce physical interaction and expedite import clearance. Importers and Customs Brokers must upload digitally signed supporting documents via ICEGATE. Original certificates, such as Country of Origin, still need to be verified physically at a newly established Central Original Document Verification Cell. Once verified, these documents are uploaded and linked to the Bill of Entry using a unique reference number. The facility will operate from June 1, 2018, and feedback can be directed to the Deputy Commissioner of Customs.
