DGFT Updates Track & Trace Rules: Pre-Nov 2018 Drugs Exempted; Barcode Required for Later Exports. Report Issues to Officials.
The circular addresses the implementation of the Track and Trace system for pharmaceutical exports. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has amended the Handbook of Procedure 2015-20, exempting drugs manufactured by small-scale and non-small-scale units before November 15, 2018, from maintaining data in the Parent-Child packaging relationship. Drugs manufactured after this date must have barcoding on both tertiary and secondary packaging, with data uploaded to the Central Portal. Previous Public Notice No. 58/2018 is modified accordingly. Any issues should be reported to the Deputy/Assistant Commissioner in charge of Appraising Main (Export).
