Chennai Air Cargo Introduces E-Payment for Customs Duties via Indian Customs EDI System Starting March 30, 2007.
The circular outlines the procedure for e-payment of customs duties under the Indian Customs EDI system at Chennai Air Cargo. Previously, customs duties were paid only through the State Bank of India at Meenambakkam. Now, importers can also use Indian Bank and Corporation Bank for e-payments. The e-payment process involves logging into the ICEGATE portal, selecting unpaid challans, and completing transactions through designated banks. The system aims to reduce transaction costs and expedite customs clearance. The e-payment facility will be available from March 30, 2007, with support from Corporation Bank, Kellys Corner Branch.
