<h1>Control of EOUs, EHTPs, and STPs shifts from Customs to Central Excise in port cities; records transfer by July 31, 2010.</h1> The administrative control over Export Oriented Units (EOUs), Electronic Hardware Technology Parks (EHTP), and Software Technology Parks (STP) in port cities, previously managed by Customs, will transition to Central Excise formations. This change is part of the implementation of the Automation of Central Excise and Service Tax (ACES) and the future shift to the GST regime. The transfer of records from the Export Promotion Commissionerate, Mumbai Zone-I, to the jurisdictional Central Excise formations will be completed by July 31, 2010. EOUs must contact the respective Central Excise authorities for all operational matters starting August 1, 2010.
