Handbook of Procedures Amended: Fuel Type Must Be Specified in Advance Authorisation Applications; Transferable Only to Licensed Marketers.
The Director General of Foreign Trade has amended the Handbook of Procedures, Vol. 2, 2004-2009, concerning the import of fuel under Advance Authorisation. Applicants must specify the fuel type in their application, and imports are not allowed under Paragraph 4.7 or Adhoc Norms. Fuel import entitlements under DFIA and DFRC can be transferred only to licensed fuel marketers. Fuel is excluded from DEPB rate calculations, but exporters may apply for a DEPB rate for customs duty on fuel. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
