of <h1>SEZ Specified Officer Authorized for Drawback Claims, DTA Suppliers Allowed with Disclaimer; Safeguards Against Duplicate Claims Advised.</h1> The circular clarifies the authority responsible for sanctioning and disbursing drawback claims on supplies made by Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) units to Special Economic Zone (SEZ) units. It specifies that the Specified Officer in the SEZ is the appropriate authority for processing these claims, except when a disclaimer is issued by the SEZ unit or Developer, allowing the DTA supplier to claim the drawback. The jurisdictional Commissioner of Customs, in consultation with the Pay & Accounts Officer, will handle authorization and issuance of drawback cheques where electronic facilities are unavailable. Safeguards are advised to prevent duplicate drawback claims.
