of <h1>Service Tax Return Deadline Extended to 26th December 2011 Due to Mandatory E-Filing Introduction.</h1> The Central Board of Excise and Customs has extended the deadline for submitting service tax half-yearly returns for the period from April 2011 to September 2011. The new submission date is now 26th December 2011, instead of the original 25th October 2011. This extension is due to the mandatory introduction of e-filing for all service tax assesses, as per notification issued on 25th August 2011, which has allowed limited time for the trade to adapt to this new requirement. The order is directed to various commissioners and directors within the relevant departments.
