EPCG allows irrigation equipment imports for contract farming and agro-export if ownership retained, installation certified, and obligations guaranteed.
Imports of irrigation equipment under the EPCG scheme are permitted for use in contract farming and export of agro-products provided the equipment remains owned by the EPCG licence holder, is not sold or leased until export obligations are met, and a list of installation premises is furnished to the jurisdictional Assistant Commissioner of Customs. A Chartered Engineer's certificate confirming installation at the declared premises and that the equipment will not be moved is required, and the licence holder must undertake these conditions in the Bond/LUT. Customs may issue standing orders for staff guidance.
