Some sources from where one can get tax updates on GST

Ganeshan Kalyani
GST compliance updates: monitor official notifications and advance rulings; use centralized repositories and specialist services. Practitioners should monitor GST developments via the CBIC portal for central notifications and circulars, State GST portals for local issuances and advance rulings, and High Court, Supreme Court and public databases for judicial interpretations. To manage the burden of continuous tracking, many rely on specialist repositories-both paid and free-that aggregate notifications, circulars, forms and case law; examples include TaxTMI, Taxguru, Taxindiaonline/TIOL, Taxongo and ClearTax, which supplement official sources with newsletters, forums and searchable archives. (AI Summary)

Needless to mention that there are number of Notifications, Circular, Advance ruling, High Court judgments, Supreme Court Cases etc. These are published so as to bring changes to the GST Act and Rules. In case of ambiguity in the interpretation of law, the High Court and Supreme Court cases are also referred. There is still doubt on a particular provision in which case an advance ruling is sought from the department.

One may attempt to keep track of the notifications, circulars by referring to CBIC website www.cbic.gov.in. Since notification, circulars published by the Central Government is replicated by each States and published in their respective GST website one may prefer not to refer GST website of all States. However, one may refer GST website of each States in India to at least refer advance rulings passed by that GST Authority. One may refer website of High Court of each State to find the judgment passed by the Court of that State. One may refer website of Supreme Court to get a copy of landmark judgment. One may also find the judgments in Indiankanoon wesbsite for free. One may also find the judgments in the Google search.

In the busiest work schedule it becomes difficult for anybody to keep a track of all the amendments made to GST law / rules. Thus, it becomes necessary to subscribe to a service provider who are expert in providing access to their online repository where one can find all the notifications, circulars, judgments etc. in an updated version. It saves lot of time and energy and can utilize it in doing productive job. Some of the websites are given below:
