E-ITR FORMS NOT AVAILABLE ON e-filing portal on 07.04.18 at 17:36 hours.

DEVKUMAR KOTHARI
Delay in E-ITR Forms for 2018-19 Assessment Year Hinders E-Filing; ITR-1 Released April 26, 2018 E-ITR forms for the assessment year 2018-19 were not available on the e-filing portal as of April 7, 2018, making it impossible to upload returns. The forms were, however, accessible on other websites. The author expressed concerns about the absence of optional sheets for explanations and claims in the new forms and had communicated feedback to the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). A response from CPC Bangalore confirmed the delay. By April 26, 2018, ITR-1 became available for e-filing, with other forms expected shortly, highlighting a significant delay in their release. (AI Summary)

E-ITR were notified recently  and they are available on websites of CBDT

https://www.incometaxindia.gov.in/Pages/downloads/income-tax-return.aspx. I had downloaded various

forms (ITR-1 to  ITR 7 and ITR-V)  on 06.04.2018. Various forms are also available on many websites.

However, these forms for AY 2018-19 are not yet available on e-filing portal.

Without forms being available on e-filing portal one cannot upload  e-itr.

E-ITR FORMS NOT AVAILABLE ON

https://portal.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/e-Filing/MyAccount/OnlineAndUploadItrLink.html?ID=1922879254

From the above page we find that in selection drop list AY 2017-18 is on top. AY  2018-19 is not appearing.

As the ITR form for AY 2018-19 is not available, I could not select AY as a consequence I  cannot proceed for selection of form number and selection for mode of submission. Please see the following screen shot:

Therefore, for all practical purposes, E-ITR forms are not yet available for e-filing.

These should be uploaded on e-filing portal immediately.

My earlier article about extra sheet IN ITR  for explanations and claims:

In my following article

https://www.taxtmi.com/article/detailed?id=7923

I had suggested for provision in E-ITR for submissions of explanations and claims for consideration of AO.

In new E-ITR forms for ay 2018-19 also we do not find any facility of a sheet for submission of explanations and claims for consideration by the AO.

I have also sent feed- back through the e-filing portal and by way of emails to the members of CBDT with copy of my article appended in the body of email. Submission details are as follows:

subject:

E-ITR FORM MUST HAVE OPTIONAL SHEETS FOR EXPLANATIONS AND FURTHER CLAIMS FOR CONSIDERATION BY AO

On 07.04.2018 I also received a call from CPC Bangalore to confirm that the feed- back has been received and will be forwarded to concerned authorities.

Let us hope CBDT will do needful and provide scope for submission of explanations and further claims in the E-ITR.
