<h1>Manufacturers Must Notify Central Excise Before Adding or Removing Packing Machines Under Rule 13 of 2008 Rules.</h1> Rule 13 of the Pan Masala Packing Machines (Capacity Determination and Collection of Duty) Rules, 2008, outlines procedures for the addition or removal of packing machines. Manufacturers must notify the Deputy or Assistant Commissioner of Central Excise at least three working days in advance if they intend to uninstall or add a packing machine. Uninstallation and sealing are conducted under the supervision of the Superintendent of Central Excise. Manufacturers cannot store or trade packing materials or goods with undeclared retail sale prices. If manufacturing of certain goods is permanently discontinued, manufacturers must declare remaining stock and packing materials on that day.
