<h1>Regulation 62E: SEBI sets limits on directorships for listed entities with non-convertible debt securities. Compliance required soon.</h1> Regulation 62E of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) mandates that directors of listed entities with non-convertible debt securities must adhere to limits on directorships. A person can be a director in up to seven listed entities, with a maximum of seven as an independent director. Those serving as whole-time or managing directors in any listed entity may act as independent directors in no more than three listed entities. Directorships due to statutory or contractual obligations in public sector undertakings or public-private partnerships are excluded from these limits. Compliance is required within six months of the regulation's amendment publication or the next Annual General Meeting.
