Article 17 of Finland DTAA: Directors' fees taxable in the State of the company served. Effective until March 31, 2011.
Article 17 of the Double Tax Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) between Finland and another Contracting State, effective until March 31, 2011, addresses the taxation of directors' fees. It stipulates that directors' fees and similar payments received by a resident of one Contracting State, for serving as a member of the board or similar organ of a company in the other Contracting State, may be taxed in the latter State. This provision is part of international tax treaties aimed at avoiding double taxation by clarifying which State has the right to tax such income.
