of <h1>Section 19-IA Enables Settlement with the Board for Civil or Administrative Proceedings under Depositories Act, 1996</h1> Section 19-IA, inserted into the Depositories Act, 1996, allows individuals facing administrative or civil proceedings under sections 19 or 19H to apply for settlement with the Board. The Board can agree to a settlement based on the nature and severity of the defaults, requiring payment or other terms under the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992. The specified procedure under this Act applies to settlements, and no appeal is permitted against orders made by the Board or adjudicating officer under this section. This provision is effective retroactively from April 20, 2007.
