<h1>Rule 48: Authorized representatives must adhere to dress code; black coat optional April 15-August 31.</h1> Rule 48 of the Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (Procedure) Rules, 1982, mandates that authorized representatives, excluding relatives or regular employees, must appear in professional attire before the Tribunal. If no professional dress is specified, males should wear a black coat with a white shirt and black tie, while females should wear a black coat over a white sari or other white dress. From April 15 to August 31, representatives may forgo the black coat. The term 'regular employee' excludes Customs or Central Excise Department employees appointed as authorized representatives under specific conditions.
