Register of Directors Must List Personal Details and Directorships Under Companies Act, 1956, Section 306
The Companies Act, 1956, requires maintaining a Register of Directors, Managing Director, Manager, and Secretary, as per section 306. This register, detailed in Form No. 34, includes information such as the full present and former names, father's or husband's name, usual residential address, nationality, business occupation, and particulars of directorships or other offices held in any other company. It also records the date of original appointment and any subsequent changes. The form was updated by GSR 344 on February 22, 1963, and the system of managing agents was abolished, making certain provisions redundant.
