<h1>Inspectors Can Seize Documents During LLP Investigations Under Clause 48; Compliance with Code of Criminal Procedure Required.</h1> Clause 48 of the Limited Liability Partnership Bill, 2008, allows an inspector to apply to a Judicial or Metropolitan Magistrate for an order to seize books and papers during an investigation if there is a reasonable belief of potential destruction or alteration. Upon authorization, the inspector can enter premises, search, and seize necessary documents. These documents must be returned after the investigation, not exceeding six months, with possible identification marks placed on them. All searches and seizures must comply with the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, unless otherwise specified in this section.
