....The HC dismissed the petition and refused anticipatory bail to the petitioner. The court found prima facie serious allegations that the petitioner, with co-accused, physically assaulted and threatened the complainant, a public servant engaged in official duty; the plea of false implication was rejected at this nascent investigative stage. Balancing individual liberties against societal interest, the HC held there is no material to negate the commission of the offence, custodial interrogation is necessary for effective and fair investigation, and granting anticipatory bail would impede the inquiry and risk threat to the complainant or witnesses.
