....HC allowed petition in part and ordered conditional release of the imported artwork to the petitioner, finding no conclusive evidence as to foreign origin and noting the valuer's Rs.30 lakh estimate was prima facie speculative. The petitioner must make an ad hoc deposit of Rs.2,00,000 towards differential duty and deposit Rs.30,000 as the redemption fee under Section 125 of the Customs Act, 1962. Release is subject to those deposits and to any further orders of the HC. The petition is disposed of accordingly.....
