....3/OFD/HO- 2010-11 dated 04/01/2016 have informed that as per the directive 2006/88/ EC, ornamental fish exported to European Union countries should be accompanied by Health Certification by the competent authority. The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) and Export Inspection Agency (EIA) have been declared as the Central Competent Authority by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India vide letter No. 2/29/2007-EI & EP dated 30-07-2007. Functions of the Central Competent Authorities (CCA) will be to designate, monitor, suspend or withdraw designation of Local Competent Authorities (LCA) and also to perform the activities within its jurisdiction in accordance with mandatory requirements as per EU norms.
